“This is how time travels. It’s precious and fragile. Lead it slowly” (Nathan Alterman)
Nathan Alterman is the definitive narrator of complex times and there are those who see him, in addition to being a great poet and influential publicist, as well as a documentarian. His songs have become an asset of Hebrew culture and have received countless performances: “Parking Night”, “Shir Mishmar”, “You Need to Ring Twice”, “Night Night”, “Endless Meeting” and other songs that have been an integral part of the Israeli soundtrack for many decades.
In a festive urban evening, Carmit Sapir Weitz and poet Roni Somek will dive into the stories behind the work, the characters and the moments that made Alterman a central figure in Israeli poetry and songs. With: Natan Sellor – Alterman’s grandson and son of Tirza Atar, Yael Keidar and Gil Zohar, with new performances of his songs. Among the songs that will be performed: “Endless Meeting”, “December”, “A Letter from Mother”, “Urban Evening”, “The Melody Returns” and more.
