“This is how time travels. It is precious and fragile. Take it slowly” (Natan Alterman)
Natan Alterman is the definitive narrator of complex times, and some see him, in addition to being a great poet and influential publicist, as well as a documentarian. His poems have become the ironclad assets of Hebrew culture and have been performed countless times: “Lil Khaniya,” “Shir Mishmar,” “Tarikh Lezletzel Dvayim,” “Lila Lila,” “Peishti Lain Ketz” and other songs that have been an integral part of the Israeli soundtrack for many decades.
In a festive urban evening, Carmit Sapir Weitz hosts musicians: Nathan Salor (Nathan Alterman’s grandson), Yael Kedar and Liran Sela, in new performances of his songs, and poet Dr. Roni Somek for a dive into the stories behind the work, the characters and the moments that made Alterman a central figure in Israeli poetry and songwriting.
Among the songs that will be performed: “Pink Sunset”, “With You Without You”, “Made in the Land” and more.
The last performance for 2026 in the series “Song. Story” – Tributes to the Greatest Poets:
