Ofer Mizrahi in a new trio performance, with Avri Borochov – double bass and Daniel Dor – drums. The ensemble will play new and old works by Ofer Mizrahi, in arrangements for guitar, bass and drums. The performance combines influences from the East and the West.
Ofer Mizrahi is a self-taught musician. Mizrahi’s style – a subtle fusion of folk, jazz and oriental music – is a reflection of a nomadic exploration and passion for the inner beauty of sound. In his works, he explores combinations of Western, Turkish, Indian and Caucasian music in a cross-cultural dialogue, where traditional boundaries begin to blur and even disappear.
Mizrahi studied with Pandit Buddhadev Das-Gupta, one of the greatest masters of Hindustani music. He has recorded and collaborated with many musicians in Israel, including Idan Reichel; Omri Mor; Esther Radha; Yishai Afterman; Liraz Charchi; Rif Cohen; Liora Yitzhak and many others. Among his other performances in Israel and abroad, he played at the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, was accepted into the esteemed Jazzahead Jazz Festival in Germany, the Polish Jazz Festival and the Eilat Jazz Festival.
