“I was the last of my sins” (Avraham Halfi)
Poetry and confession, sins and requests for partial forgiveness only
“Forgiveness Time” event series – four events in the month of Elul from “Meshiv Ruach” and “Raash HaRavim”.
Hosted by poet Herut Lubitz and with the participation of poet Roni Eldad and musician and bard Yair Harel.
We will gather to recite poetry about all our sins. We will confess our sins and crimes (more serious and less serious), and we will ask for forgiveness for our apparent sins and transgressions. We will examine the connection between the tradition of confessional poetry and the confession of sin in the recitation of the Selichot, and we will wonder whether the role of poetry is to tell the truth, the whole truth, and only the truth – without apologizing! Or – to allow a person to receive forgiveness from God and man.
The event will be accompanied by Hebrew singing and Piyyutim, and lively conversation. You are invited to bring all your sins with you!
