HARD KOR: Moriah Kor in a new, funny and moving show about childhood in the house of “Mr. Hebrew”

What is it like to grow up in a home where every linguistic mistake results in a family “scolding”? Media personality and journalist Moriah Kor takes to the stage in a personal, witty and unusual performance – “Hard Kor” – and invites the audience to take a peek behind the scenes of the most spoken Hebrew language house.

The name Avshalom Kor is an ironclad asset of Israeli culture, but for his daughter, media personality and journalist Moriah Kor, he is first and foremost a father. Now, in her new stage show “Hard Kor,” she removes the barriers and speaks candidly, with sharp humor and great grace, about the profound (and entertaining) meaning of growing up under the tall tree of the Hebrew language.

The show “Hard Core” takes the audience on a nostalgic, Land of Israel and exciting journey to the realms of childhood and youth. Through intimate, untold stories and hilarious anecdotes, Moria describes the secular-traditional Tel Aviv home in which she grew up: a home where the Hebrew language was not just a means of communication, but another, vital and breathing tenant.

The unique evening is entirely woven with beloved and well-known songs that are bravely connected to the stories that Moriah tells. The musical side of the evening, playing the piano and leading the performance of the songs together with the audience, is entrusted to the esteemed musician Mickey Rosenbaum. The combination of family stories and shared singing creates an intimate, immersive and cohesive experience.

During the evening, Moriah shares the great love her father instilled in his children for the Hebrew language, Israeli poetry, and the precision of the word.
