Jerusalem is a city of layers, and beneath the stones echo the voices of the cultural giants who shaped them all. “Retro Soul Jerusalem” was born to shake the dust off these ironclad assets and reveal the groove and soul that were always hidden in them, through one-off concept shows that combine funk, soul and spoken word.

On stage, there will be an electrifying encounter between prominent forces that dismantle and reassemble the classics:

The Slices – a rising and leading force in the instrumental funk and groove scene, bringing sound to the stage
Original, rich and exciting. The band presents an electrifying live performance that captivates the audience, and has already managed to conquer and stand out on prestigious stages such as the Jerusalem Jazz Festival, the International Showcase Festival, and more. These days, the band continues to establish its position in Israel and around the world through its new album “Six Figures” produced by Yossi Fine.

Jonathan Blumenfeld – Theater creator, screenwriter, musician and spoken word poet, born in Jerusalem. He began his artistic career on the stages of the Poetry Slam, and even represented Israel at the World Championships in Paris. These days he is acting in “Anti-Aging”, the award-winning play he created with Michal Lucy Gorfein at the Incubator Theater, and is performing with Oli Danon the show “Songs and Wicked: Sin in Poetry”. Among his other works: “Philo and Sophie” (Kan Edukit), “The Field – Elmaleb” and “More Than One Song” (Israel Festival), and “The Winners” (film).

Song Two – one of the most prominent and profound voices in the scene, which brings with it an extraordinary stage presentation and a lot of emotion and soul.

Yael Ariel – singer, producer and songwriter. Brings a magnetic presence to the stage, with unique and contemporary vocals.
