“For a moment we sang from me then” (Avraham Shlonsky)
Ancient song forms are reborn in modern poetry

“Forgiveness Time” event series – four events in the month of Elul from “Meshiv Ruach” and “Raash HaRavim”.

Hosted by poet Herut Lubitz and with the participation of poet Kol Sarloui and bard Eitam Ben Yaakov.

The piyut that accompanies the prayer is the ancient basic form of Hebrew poetry. The piyut accompanied the person in all Jewish communities from birth to death, through events of joy and sorrow, holidays and Sabbaths, and culminated in the events of Selichot and the holidays of Tishrei. At this event, we will celebrate the ancient piyut and the new Hebrew poetry that pours new content into the ancient piyut form to create new Jewish-Israeli poetry.

We will sing familiar piyyutim, learn about unique piyyutim from Israeli communities, and talk with the poetess Kol Sarlui about the power of the ancient form to live out new Hebrew poetry.
