Note 1 – Jerusalem on the microphone
Live podcast and live performance hosted by Nir Gorli
A new series of meetings on Nocturno Live that brings the voices of Jerusalem to the forefront. Journalist and radio broadcaster Nir Gorli (“One Song”) hosts open, in-depth conversations with artists who grew up in the city or live and create there today. A journey into the creative process, the complexities and the Jerusalem identity, with a live performance on stage immediately following the interview. The series will open with a meeting between Nir Gorli and Ehad Fishoff.
Nir Gorli is a journalist, broadcaster and podcast creator, and the creator of “Shir Ahad” – the podcast and television series of Kan, which bring the stories behind Israeli songs. Over the years, he has created, edited and presented programs and tracts dealing with music and culture, and hosted shows and events that combine songs and stories. Winner of the Israeli Television Academy Award and twice the Dalia Sigan Award for Creativity in Radio.
Ohad Fishoff is an interdisciplinary artist working in the areas of visual art, live art, sound, text, movement and image. His works in various art fields consistently lean towards the performative – a position that attributes great importance to art as a shared experience in time. He works alone or in collaboration with dancers, choreographers, musicians and other performers.
His unconventional path of development as an artist and the ongoing pursuit of his works towards an ever-increasing integration of modes of expression, constantly challenge and expand the artistic fields in which he operates. His dance, performance, video and installation works are frequently exhibited in Israel and internationally. Fishoff has been a teacher of Gaga, the movement language of Ahed Naharin, for twenty years and teaches art at Bezalel and the Midrash at Beit Berl.
At the end of 2025, “Enchantment and Gardening,” Ohad Fishof’s latest album, was released. This is his first solo album since “Album 1” (2019). In it too, Fishof weaves a dreamlike narrative from a multifaceted mixture of instrumental pieces and songs. The album’s formal range, which moves between abstract electro-acoustic environments and avant-garde pop, maintains a kind of parallel universe. Nature is present here: bubbling, sparkling, thundering. Humans are present: conversing, declaring, yearning. Technology is present: buzzing, humming, flashing.
