The “Dialogue of Sounds” project is a cultural project sponsored by “Brutina” and Nocturno Live in collaboration with the Student Association of the Academy of Music and Dance and the School of Music from the East. The project brings academic and traditional creation to the centers of the city’s nightlife, and is based on musical combinations of Western jazz that corresponds with Eastern maqam using traditional and modern instruments. The goal of the project is to build a musical ecosystem that provides young artists with a central stage, exposure, practical experience and economic independence, while creating a new Jerusalem cultural scene.

The evening includes two performances: a jazz ensemble of students from the Academy of Music and Dance led by the head of the Jazz Department, Hagai Blintzky. A performance that presents the tarab in swing and explores the swing in tarab, with the participation of excellent students from the department. Musicians: Liam Zizemsky, Ido Levensberg, Itay Lichtig, Irena Altokhova and Alma Yanai.

In the second performance, the Orchestral Ensemble of the Center for Music from the East hosts alumni and students. They will play modern and classical pieces from Arabic and Turkish music.
